Here some information about our association.
“Forró is the music of the people, made by the people and for the people, it is music for celebration, devotion, fun, communion and struggle.” - Fernando Corrêa.
Build a connection to yourself, other people and the music through dancing and let yourself be carried away.
We will teach you the basic steps, first figures of forró and practise connection while dancing.
A follow-up course ("Fortgeschrittene") will start in September 2026.

Teachers
Clara and Mischa are experienced dancers from Forró do Chamego Leipzig e.V. They have been dancing for several years and have participated in many forró festivals in Europe. They look forward to sharing their love of forró and their knowledge with you!

There are eight course sessions.
Prerequisites
This course is designed for people who have already completed a beginner’s course in forró or who can dance the simple turn, chuverinho and xaxado figures, as well as the basic steps.
You do not need to bring a partner.
At our free dancing/practice sessions (Monday and Thursday evenings), all dancers enjoy dancing together, regardless of their dance technique or experience. You are warmly invited to join us.
